Miesha Tate and Zoila Frausto Will Make Pretty Turn Ugly at Challengers

The World Sports Café in Fresno, CA. played host to Strikeforce for their Challengers Series weigh-ins on Thursday night.

Lavar Johnson (13-3), who six months ago was on the edge of death from a gunshot wound sustained at a family function gone wrong, will be making his return to Strikeforce for the first time since his near death experience.

The Madera, CA. resident came into the weigh-ins at a lean 241 pounds and looked as though that bullet bounced off his frame without harm.

Johnson’s opponent, Lolohea Mahe (4-1) came into the weigh-ins two pounds over the 265 pound weight limit but the two agreed to meet in the cage, anyway.

What is likely to be the most exciting fight of the night almost got underway at the weigh-ins when Miesha Tate (8-2) and Zoila Frausto (5-0) stepped on the scales.

Frausto posed with Tate for the traditional fighter stare-down but the local favorite, Frausto, got right in the face of Tate, sparking intensity between the two female fighters.

The friction between Frausto and Tate is a definite tale of how things are going to erupt on Friday night in Fresno.

Here are the results for the Strikeforce Challengers main card:

Lavar Johnson (241 lbs.) vs. Lolohea Mahe (267 lbs.)

George Bush III (206 lbs.) vs. Ron "Abongo" Humphrey (203 lbs.)

Andre Galvao (170 lbs.) vs. Luke Stewart (171 lbs.)

Zoila Frausto (132 lbs.) vs. Miesha Tate (136 lbs.)

Justin Wilcox (160 lbs.) vs. Shamar Bailey (161 lbs.)

Strikeforce Challengers 7 takes place on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Save Mart Center in Fresno CA.
